01

What it is

libretouch is an OpenEmbedded/Yocto distribution built on top of the TI SDK for AM335x. The current focus is the SoundTouch 20 Series III, known as spotty_sm2.

02

What works

Audio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, USB, serial, buttons, the OLED display, and the IR remote are working to varying degrees. The project remains experimental and hardware-specific.

03

How it is built

The recommended build uses TI’s Ubuntu 22.04 container image through Distrobox or Podman. USB boot is the preferred development path while persistent NAND flashing is still experimental.

Current focus

Bringing a transparent, reproducible Linux system to hardware that was never intended to be open.

Actual focus

Of the (currently) only developer

Having fun with hardware, software and AI-supported engineering.
